Roughly what to expect
Babies under one usually need two or three naps a day; from about one, most children drop to a single lunchtime nap of one to two hours; and somewhere between two and a half and four, that nap fades out. Every child gets there on their own timetable.
Safe sleep and our routine
Babies sleep on their backs in their own cot or sleep mat, in a calm, dimmed room with a practitioner present and regular checks recorded. Older children rest on mats after lunch with quiet music and stories; nobody is made to sleep.
Keeping home and nursery in step
Tell us your nap times and sleep words when you start, and we'll match them. If bedtime at home is getting late, ask us to cap the afternoon nap — small adjustments here usually fix evenings at home within a week.
