No. We have nappy changing and child toilet facilities at the nursery. You will need to provide nappies for your child. Staff will be trained to change disposable nappies and also cloth nappies through training provided by Newport Nappy Library.
Our nursery cook designs and cooks the menus on site in our brand new kitchen. Children will be involved in designing some of the menus, taking part in cooking activities, tasting foods from around the world, and helping to grow some of the food in our garden area.
Yes. Our nursery cook caters for all kinds of allergies and will keep allergy free foods separate and use substitute ingredients for meals.
All children are welcome. The majority of children are from English speaking families and have no prior knowledge of Welsh.
Children are born multilingual and can pick up more than one language simultaneously without getting confused. Multilingualism is the norm in many countries. The benefits of learning another language include better cognitive skills across all subjects, problem-solving, multitasking, creativity and flexible thinking.
Our Welsh language policy is to immerse the children in Welsh. Staff will use the sandwich technique where needed (repeating the phrase in Welsh-English-Welsh). Children can respond in their preferred language and all staff can understand both English and Welsh.
We can offer the 30 hours childcare offer (up to 20 hours) and can accept payment via the tax-free childcare scheme or childcare vouchers.
